Workshop:”Using Critical Thinking to Teach American Culture in the ELT Classroom”

We are happy to announce that ELTA Albania is organizing a summer workshop for the English teachers with Loren Lee Chiesi, English Language Fellow, US Embassy Tirana, and Elona Mehilli Kolaj President of ELTA Albania.

The topic of the workshop is “Using Critical Thinking to Teach American Culture in the ELT Classroom” on Wednesday, 19 July 2023 from 10.00-11.00.

Teaching critical thinking involves motivating students to develop their learning skills.This workshop will help teachers with strategies on how to teach critical thinking in the ELT classroom and help pupils to share their ideas and develop a sense of awareness.

Moreover, as teachers, we are always looking for ways to make our lessons interesting and maintain student interest in our classes. Culture is a very powerful hook and can heighten the interest and motivation of your pupils. In this workshop, teachers will also get more ideas on how to make teaching English more fun by studying cultures, American culture and their own culture, in classroom in a way that’s educational and enjoyable.

This will be useful training for English teachers and a very good opportunity to discuss their needs for the next academic year with ELTA Albania Board and representatives of the US Embassy in Tirana.
